The principle of operation of the TKDG
Long-term combustion in the TKDG furnace can be provided in 2 ways:
- Upper combustion principle. In the combustion chamber, the fuel does not burn, but smolders with limited access to oxygen. The cylindrical furnace is located in the upper part of the unit and has a cylindrical shape. The gas liberated during smoldering enters the afterburner chamber, where oxygen from the air is supplied for its complete combustion. As a result, almost complete combustion of the fuel occurs with the active release of thermal energy.
- Pyrolysis principle. The combustion chamber is located at the bottom. Here, too, active smoldering of the fuel occurs with limited access to oxygen. The combustible gas rises and reaches the second chamber, where, being enriched with oxygen, it burns out completely.
Advantages and disadvantages
Advantages of the considered boilers:
- high efficiency, exceeding 90%;
- affordable and fairly cheap fuel;
- ease of installation, management and operation;
- almost complete combustion of combustion products;
- increased durability;
- affordable cost.
It should be noted some disadvantages of TKDG:
- the need for a separate room for installation;
- the need for periodic cleaning of ash;
- Arrangement of a warehouse for fuel reserves.
In budget designs, fuel is loaded manually, which can also be attributed to the disadvantages of such equipment.
Water circuit
To provide autonomous hot water supply, in addition to the heating system, TKDG with a water circuit or double-circuit boilers are installed. In such units, 2 independent circuits for water circulation are provided.An additional heat exchanger plays the role of a boiler and is intended only for heating water.
If the TKDG is connected to the water supply network, then the circulation of water in both circuits is provided without forced supply, i.e. due to water pressure. When there is no centralized supply of coolant, a storage tank is needed. It contains the necessary supply of water to meet the demand.
The tank is usually installed above the boiler. In some models of units, a built-in expansion tank is provided. Forced water supply is provided by a circulation pump.
How is the power of the boiler selected?
The exact calculation of the required boiler power for heating a house is quite complicated. A simple technique is usually used: to heat an area of 10 m2 1 kW of thermal energy is needed.
For unforeseen cases, a reserve of 10-15% in capacity is created. When using a water circuit or installing an additional boiler, an additional energy of the order of 25-30% is required.
Climatic conditions make their own adjustments. In cold regions, where the air temperature can drop below minus 30 degrees, TKDG are selected at the rate of 1.6-2 kW per 10 m2 area of the room. For the southern regions of the country, the requirement can be reduced: 0.8-0.9 kW per 10 m2.

It is recommended to choose TKDG only from proven, reliable manufacturers. These include:
- Company "Gazstroy": boilers of the Ochag series with power from 5 to 35 kW.
