When boiling, no foreign odors were ever noticed. The kettle is inexpensive, but the functionality is quite good. One possibility of control from the phone is worth it!

The kettle has been working for me for about 1.5 years, for all the time it proved to be worthy, with the exception of one moment.
Exactly 1 year later (coincidence?), the kettle began to smell suspiciously of burnt plastic. Feeling something was wrong, I decided to look and, perhaps, correct what went wrong inside him. As a result, after parsing it, I found that the terminal of the heating element was loose and, having poor contact, heated up and melted the heat shrink on itself, so much so that the heat shrink was charred (photo attached). As a result, I tightened the terminal with pliers, updated the heat shrink. While it has been working for more than 5 months - there are no comments and smells of plastic.
The second teapot, with relatives, works the same, everything is fine with it, no smells were noticed. Apparently I was so "lucky", but on the Internet I met a couple of articles on this topic with about the same teapots.
Bottom line: I'm satisfied with the teapot, but REDMOND has something to work on.

Advantages:
- beautiful light indication of water temperature
- temperature maintenance mode, while the backlight shows the current temperature
- the ability to customize any color of the backlight, and even a certain scale
In general, the kettle is beautiful, comfortable, does not smell like plastic at all.But there are points that could be improved (water level, bluetooth)

Beautiful lighting, fast heating of water, control from the phone, not very noisy. I spent a lot of time choosing a new kettle and settled on this one. Expectations were justified! Everyone liked the kettle. Phone control is very convenient. You can boil water while in another room, heat the water to the desired temperature. The backlight is bright.
