Device types

Hansa freestanding electric cookers have an upper part as a working hob and a lower part as an oven.

And if ovens for such stoves are by default produced with an electric type of heating, then the working surface may differ and is divided into 3 types:

  1. Hob with cast iron burners, where round burners made of a special alloy (the so-called pancakes) are located on the enamel coating.
  2. Electric stoves with glass-ceramic surface and Hi-Light burners. The hob works according to the following principle: under the action of electricity, the heating element (Hi-Light) heats up and subsequently heats the glass ceramics. From it heat comes to the dishes, and from the dishes - to food.
  3. Electric stoves with glass-ceramic surface and induction hobs. The induction work surface does not heat up to high temperatures, but remains slightly warm. That is why nothing burns on such stoves. Thanks to their principle of operation, induction hobs are smarter than others. The heat in them is released exactly with the diameter of the bottom of the dishes. The main advantages of induction are: fast heating, easy maintenance and 100% safety.

What to look for when buying?

Before choosing an electric stove, you should pay attention to the following parameters:

  1. Work surface material. The enameled surface has existed for more than a dozen years. But new technologies do not stand still. And as practice and customer reviews show, the glass-ceramic surface is much more convenient to use, care and safety (especially with induction heating elements).
  2. Number of burners - for stand-alone electric cookers Hansa remains unchanged - 4. But some models have a burner expansion zone, that is, it is divided into several circles of different diameters. And it is convenient when using dishes of different diameters.
  3. Oven operating modes. The bigger, the better. Some models of Hansa stoves have separate upper and lower heating modes, food defrosting, electric grill, convection, oven cleaning, etc.
  4. Decide if you need a convection oven. It is responsible for the constant circulation of air throughout the oven and allows the dish to bake evenly. Not all Hansa models have this feature.
  5. Dimensions. In Hansa models, the difference in dimensions is represented in width. It comes in 50 cm and 60 cm.
  6. Control. Mechanical (using rotary switches), touch (using buttons) and mixed (using switches and buttons).
  7. Cleaning the oven - can be traditional (using a damp cloth and detergents), pyrolytic (oven self-cleaning system) or catalytic (cleaning when the stove is heated).
  8. Plate configurations - different models also differ. There may be a different number of baking sheets, a different number of glasses in the oven door, various guides for baking sheets (telescopic, stationary), drawers for dishes under the oven.
  9. Timer and auto-shutoff functions will not be superfluous. They will help you control the cooking time.
