Gas stoves appeared in the USSR in the 50s of the last century and quickly became popular.

As a rule, a gas stove has from 1 to 6 burners and an oven, although there are stoves without an oven. The body of the stove is usually made of stainless or alloy steel with an enamel finish.

The most popular among gas stoves are 2 and 4 burner stoves equipped with a gas oven.

Principle of operation

Cooking on such a stove is carried out on an open fire, the fuel for which is:

  • or natural gas supplied through the city gas network;
  • or liquefied gas from cylinders.

Adjustment of the heating level (flame strength) is carried out manually using the rotary knobs on the front or top panel of the stove.You can kindle a fire both manually: with matches, lighters, open fire, etc., and using the electric ignition built into the stove (if any).

Since 2007, in all Russian gas stoves, it is mandatory to have control of the emergency extinction of the flame, that is, if liquid is spilled on the fire, for example, and the gas supply to this burner will automatically turn off.
